Experience
I am a recently retired Federal government employee, who worked in Information Technology for over 35 years. I am currently working as a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools, for secondary school and high school math and computer/information technology; and, as a tutor for mathematics in the Adult Learning Program. I have also tutored in the Huntington Learning Center program, with major emphasis on math and SAT. My education, from high school all the way through college and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, was at highly selective schools. I tutored math, physics and chemistry while I was in high school and college; with my recent retirement from the government, I am "returning" to my love for solving problems and sharing my passion for sharing knowledge and helping others to succeed. I have always felt that Mathematics is interesting and can be fun. I can break down difficult concepts, thereby helping students understand the concepts in all types and aspects of math problems and the step-by-step process of solving them. My primary focus is building the student’s confidence, through thorough explanation of the basic concepts involved, by interactive practice and feedback.
