As of now, I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology & a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I currently work as a technology consultant for a large consulting firm in the DC area. During my college career, I received a full scholarship to participate in the UVA Study Abroad Program in Valencia, Spain and another scholarship to participate in a short term study abroad in Mendoza, Argentina. The first study abroad experience in Spain was an extensive study of Spanish culture through host family experience, intensive classes and international internship for 4 months (January- May 2012). The second experience consisted of client-facing activities and a final presentation in Spanish. In both experiences, I thoroughly immersed myself in each culture and greatly improved my Spanish speaking abilities. In addition, I tutored with Peer2Peer Tutors for some years and helped middle schoolers to better their understanding of mathematics concepts. In addition, I volunteered tutoring math to a 7th grader for about two years and helped him maintain a great average at a subject he found to be very difficult. I have a passion for explaining concepts to people who are having some difficulty. I am a great listener, motivated and try to engage my students in the materials we are trying to learn. I am extremely smiley, outgoing and friendly and am very passionate about helping my students to not only understand concepts and be able to apply them in a larger context.
